January Transfer Window 2026

Agreed. Do your stats skillz show up anything interesting for when he's been used as a Centre Forward?

Perhaps that may be the idea...
Not particularly, but it would be quite a shift to go from Beto and Barry (huge) to Johnson (5'10 and slim) up front.

I will say two things - his 'no create, only shoot' vibe does dovetail perfectly with Grealish's 'no shoot, only create'. And also that weirdly in 23/24 he was an absolutely elite creator and then just hasn't done that since, so...don't know what to make of that.

Anyway, he would almost certainly go to Palace for a) better stylistic fit and b) doesn't have to move house. So it's probably moot.

I'm not convinced he will go to Palace as he knows the manager is going to leave at the end of the season and he is a big part of why they are on the up atm.

Best we played this year against Fulham when he did. Questions whether he wants to become that for sure though.

When our first choice midfielders are back, and Rohl & Tim available, we should definitely be trying that experiment again.

If we sign a top RB then there is zero chance Garner is used there again. Hes also said he sees himself as a midfielder and has been great there this season.

We really shouldnt move Garner to RB.

As I posted earlier

Palace - manager leaving
Sunderland - lifestlye? No chance
Bournemouth - Favourites i think
Everton - Would he play?

Can't imagine there would be value in Zirkzee/Mainoo, even on loan. I can see the point at times when CEOs/Managers talk about this difficulty in January. It doesn't and shouldn't mean that we sit on our hands, but I'm loath to do business with a club as awkward as them. If Grealish was there no way would it have been as straightforward as it appeared.

We should be talking to clubs about right backs. I'd be a bit surprised if we werent already moving through a list of them.

Should be an area we go all out on for the long term.
