January Transfer Window 2026

So what do we do then??? Just refuse Europe for 4 years and in that time we lose our best players because they want European football. And we could walk to the last 8 of the conference with the squad we have now,
It’s a poor standard
Not sure our top players want Conference League football. And we don't refuse it my point is that you're almost dawned either way. Europe with a sub optimal squad effects League performance but conversely you don't want to get a bloated squad for lesser European comps unless the goal is to win it !

Think the conference would be a good start for all the players . And when Moyes got 4th in 05, we weren’t ready and finished 11th the following season, but it was probably a huge help what was to follow over the next 5/6yrs

Europe with this squad would be carnage. Its a double edged sword. Aim for the stars but in reality its a problem for all but the biggest clubs, Villa seem to cope ok but Forset and Palace and defo Newcastle all struggling with the added games and small squads.

Give me the Europa conference.

Could literally play the kids in the away games before the knockout phase

If memory serves me right. People were happy to take you on your word about the dibling thing because you said you just happen to know people who knew him.

But then you started talking about other transfers and the math wasnt mathing. Thats when you were called out for it, wasnt it?
What other transfers ???

Genuinely think next year would be a year too soon for Europe for this squad. Could be a total disaster. We're seeing right now how unbelievably thin the squad is and that's just playing in one competition - we can probably just about get the squad up to scratch for the prem next season. Managing that AND a deep enough squad for Europe + domestic cups? Unlikely imo.

Palace didn't and see how it's done for them. Now got two legged play off at arguably the worst time of the season. Anyway, if our kids were ready for first team football they'd be playing regular. They're not. Welsh and Campbell only on bench for necessity and so we dont fill it with keepers.

Think you said it more eloquently but that's essentially what I was getting at.

Moyes wants full backs and a striker, apparently the club will only spend if a player they would move for in the summer comes available in January. Or it’s a really good deal. So I’d imagine a couple of loans late in the window. Let’s hope Roma win the Zirkzee race, he’s [Poor language removed]
Hand in heart, I can only say I've watched him in a handful of games. But the highlights reel for Beto and Barry must've been Oscar worthy for it's special effects, so can't see how a fresh face could be worse.

Mainoo interesting, too, albeit similar ISH to Charly.

I'd take Zirkzee - i think he's unfairly maligned. From the few times I've seen him on the telly he looks very neat and tidy. Clearly a confidence player who's playing in a poor team (it's beyond me how they're above us). I reckon he'd thrive with the quality we have in that part of the pitch.

Mainoo I'd be less sure about fitting into our team. He's the more exciting prospect and likely better player but giving game time to Man United youngsters so they're ready for next season? Nah.
Agree on Mainoo. Obviously talented but not the holding midfielder we need.

Zirkzee seems like more of a number 10. No real pace either. We've scouted him for years though so obviously like something there.

A fresh face that’s massively lacking confidence and how long does it take for him to get up to speed?? I’d rather play the lad we’ve paid 27mil for than help out Utd. No issue if it was Toney or someone of that level coming in,
But not Zirkzee

Sorry how is it helping out United?

This is true unfortunately see Crystal Palace for example
