This is a very good point we need to be sure we now have scouts who actually watch football and understand what a striker is supposed to do, it has obviously not been clear in the past around the control, speed, hold up play, and ability to finish!

Its not about completing it in one window or 2 windows, it's about who we bring in being effective. If the summer is anything to go by, it would take about 6 windows to get things right as it looks like 2 out of every ten signings will be a hit, whilst a couple of others the jury is out and then the others look like mistakes.
We have to be far smarter with our money otherwise we'll never get anywhere.
All hindsight though really isn't it mate.

Due to the size of the squad we needed players that were ready to go, and not players needing a whole season to bed in. For me, they got their priorities wrong.

Football is more like the drug dealing industry with ever changing conditions, and the risk of your best players being taken out by injury, or taxed off you by a bigger dealer at any given point. Today, tomorrow, never, who knows?
“This time in three years Rodders, and we will be millionaires” never works in football, at least not at the top table anyway.
But you could qualify for Europe and then be relegated in such a period, for sure, but it won’t be through design, it will be because you took your foot off the gas, and someone else has taken over your patch.
