January Transfer Window 2026

Also mad how every other team manages to bring in players without PL experience that aren’t good too.
I think a mix is to be expected and it’s factored in buying players from external leagues is usually cheaper. But my god, we’ve barely had any players come from abroad and do well have we

My long-held view from day one of Moyes return was that he was the safe pair of hands needed to keep us in the league for the transition to BMD, but that he shouldn't be the manager beyond the end of this season. By all means move him upstairs, or better still shake his hand and pack him off to Celtic.
I wouldn't look at any transfers in January - just concentrate on mid-table stability and give an incoming new manager with a more progressive outlook some funds to build.
It's not a knee-jerk reaction as Moyes on the whole has done, and is doing a good job, but if we want to get to the nexy level and start playing entertaining football rather than the conservative, pragmatic, rigidly structural stuff we play now then a calculated change in the hot seat is required.

All of the experienced players he wanted but didnt get in the summer really frustrated him.

That would have been a short termist push for Europe and i guess he'd have then wanted more money to build out the squad with more ready made experience.

After which he would be able to say he'd reached 7th or something and done well in Europe.

When i look at Iraola at Bournemouth who had Zabarnyi, Kerkez & Huijsen as 3 young players in their defence. They played entertaining attacking football.

There is no way Moyes would ever do this, never.

Not to say he's who id want as manager but if we had 3 top u21 players in our defence, with TFG as the owners we'd be looking forward to year on year improvements.

Look at Kroupi for them as well, scoring goals and having great games at 19. Moyes wouldnt give him a fair crack.

If were building a new team and squad we have a manager to do this with experienced players.

We probably need one like Iraola or who Roma have with Gasparini who can build with younger players.

Absolutely. Two things can be true: Moyes has done a good job this season, and a great job last season, in terms of points on the board. He's also clearly not the man to lead us into the new era, his ceiling isn't high enough and his approach is too short term and conservative.

Still think we need a loan or two tbh. This is without question the smallest squad in the league and it’s seriously creaking. It might need 38/40 points this season to stay up and I’m not completely taking that for granted.
