January Transfer Window 2026

I feel it’s a formality he will bring Armstrong back as another midfield option with KDH and gueye out - obviously short of numbers but also don’t feel Moyes trusts Alcaraz/ Rohl..even Iregbounam enough.

Some rubbish about how they were signed as development players and Moyes is doing XYZ to have them open up and subsequently reach their full potential.

That they would have opportunities when Moyes sees theyre ready for their first steps. Because theyre under 25 ?
Isn't that what he said in a roundabout way though?

I thought this was an absolutely bananas thing for Kinnear to say on Friday - imagine you are Dan Friedkin after sinking £139 mill in investment into players and reading this by your CEO:

"Equally, Thierno Barry, Merlin Röhl, Tyler Dibling, Charly Alcaraz and Adam Aznou may have had limited minutes as a collective thus far, but they have shown in their hard work at Finch Farm that they will have the capability to contribute at the highest level.

As we assess the principles that deliver transfer success across our competitors in this league, we consistently see the teams that can create patient player pathways outperform the average. Transitioning into the Premier League is challenging, evidenced by the fact that two-thirds of transfers fail. But when players are given time, this success rate can be improved dramatically."
We often talk about Brighton bringing through great players but a lot of them have very little game time in their first season

Isn't that what he said in a roundabout way though?

Idk he just named two senior players unwanted at their clubs and said they were walking over broken glass to play for us.

Then he named every other signing and said that they need patience.

Theres zero context.

Exactly this, the Friedkins need to ask who is spending this money we are giving, because so far its not looking good.

Has Moyes had a big say or this Angers fella?

Moyes is the decision maker. Hammond the negotiator and Kinnear signs off.

That reads like a statement from a CEO who's worried about his position. Although he can hardly say "In signing the above players we appear to have pissed £90 million away" I suppose.

The fella is the most obvious chancer I’ve ever seen. I was concerned when we brought him in after failing at Leeds and he’s done nothing to fill me with any confidence that he knows what he’s doing. He’s winging it, you can spot these bluffer CEO’s a mile off.
