Well Soucek is far too slow and getting slower.

Ward-Prowse is another McNeil. Very slow, poor all round footballer, who has managed to wangle a career in the top flight because of an ability to take good set-pieces and the fact that when he scores they tend to be spectacular. I wouldn't have Ward-Prowse in the team over any of our central midfielders, even Iroegbunam (at least he is mobile and young enough to get better).

I'd like to file this under BS but we know Moyes loves these kinds of slow jokers with PL experience.

Soucek would have made sense in this squad considering he can play in the 10, deeper and up front. JWP would not make sense. He can only play one position and his key strength would be wasted.

Although his one season under Moyes was really strong.

Being linked with a player that seems to only be of interest to a bottom half Championship club. For all Moyes’ talk about apparently targeting Champions League level players all summer and vetoing loads of others because they weren’t up to that standard, it’d be quite the banter if we went for James Ward-Prowse in big 2026.
