January Transfer Window 2023

Gana has slowed us down in the middle of the park. Admittedly going from Mbappe, Neymar and Messi to Gray, Gordon and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a complete change of quality but even so, he's ponderous on the ball. Needs to be sharper. So with that in mind he's not helped.
Right yeah because we had a dynamic midfield last year.

The problem with the results is the manager. Doesn't have a plan B. Doesn't know how to grind results out.

Get him gone

The only positive of this window is everton has dramatically changed their approach for signing players meaning that before when everton came knocking automatically the transfer fee was going up by a few millions vs a club like Brighton for example, and we would happily pay whatever. Now it seems we have learned to walk away Perhaps it's too late and we'll end paying the price by getting relegated, but at least if we are consistent in the next few windows maybe we will start eventually to see value coming through the door.

Who thought thought these would help?

McNeil - Nobody wanted and zero end product (relegated side)
Neal Maupay - Never been prolific and not wanted by a small club, yet we take him.
Conor Coady - Can't play in certain setups. Leadership decent but ability lacking.
Ruben Vinagre - Pointless journeyman footballer.
James Tarkowski - Decent if your biggest aspiration is mid-table.

The mind boggles!
I don't get the criticism of Tarkowski and Coady who have both been excellent for us. Our problems are all the others that are not among these 2, Pickford, Onana and (for the main part) Gray.
