I envy anyone who believes we’ll be bringing in players of the quality we need in the upcoming window.

People already seem to think Brereton-Diaz is the level of player that’s going to rocket us up the table.

We won’t bring anyone in until the last week of the window either.

….only time will tell. Players with quality we need are not necessarily the most expensive. The difficulty is identifying the quality that is available. People at our club are paid lots of money to get these decisions right.

Its very possible to sign someone who just gels or creates a different dimension or adds a skillset that trigger others.

Sometimes its about the right player at the right time. doesn't have to be the most expensive, nor the highest quality, nor the highest or "right" profile, just needs to be clever and enabling, Kevin Campbell springs to mind.

They require taking a risk mate, in some ways the club and and maybe our position sometimes ,make us to risk adverse, imagine picking up the equivalent of a Jarrod Bowen from Hull this Jan.

Maybe im being unfair and maybe the Diaz lad we're linked with, is this year Bowen! Though maybe we already made that call with Maupay VS Diaz.

Well, experienced ,quality two up top, one Gundalan type in midfield sorted.
We wont know unless we do, for sure if we dont we all off to the Championship, wonderfull.

We are done before we take the field with no strikers, a midfield player who can run a game, pick an assit pass to a goal.
Simple done get a forward line thee opposition fear, respect functions.

I hope we can sign Depay but be realistic, signing Chris Wood by loan from Newcastle would be a great choice. We should replace DCL in summer to save the transfer fee. In January, we should focus on buying a good finishing Winger. Zaha should be considered if he is available for about 15M.

More than anything we lack creativity in the team.
For me the biggest blow in the summer was not being able to sign Kudus.
We can sign another striker but if we don't create chances for him then we won't be any better than what we currently are.

In a team with creativity Maupay and DCL can be effective but not as we currently stand.

We also at the moment lack wide players who run at defenders and cause them trouble.
Anthony Gordon was doing that last year but he is struggling this season as often happens with young players in their second season.
McNeill is more a midfielder than winger and Demarai Gray is not a player who faces up to defenders and takes them on... I would like to see young Mills given a chance to do this while in Australia.


Above all though we need to sign creative players. DCL was at his best when getting service from Digne and James, we are simply not creating chances for him anymore. He is excellent in the air but how many crosses have you seen from us this season?

I would argue we have young players already who would give more desire and impact. Dobbin scored a wonderful goal for Derby the other eve. Him, Cannon, Simms….all give me more hope than the stale attack we put out every week!
