Transfer business is difficult, full stop. It's nonsense to suggest that summer transfer business is a walk in the park, but winter transfer business is so difficult that we aren't even going to bother trying.
We will be confirming our status as complete and utter also-rans if we can't even be bothered to strengthen this January.
Yeah I agree, we missed out on targets in the summer so we better be going for targets in January. We can see gaps in keys areas of the squad and the starting 11.
And what does it matter this season if we are 10th or something?
Spending money in January should only be if we need to stay up or fight for top 4.

1. Just because we have a Brazilian international doesn’t mean he’s automatically good enough. Variety of reasons, ie. he mightn’t fancy it (seems to be the case more often than not), English game mightnt really suit him,
Keans potential? Price we paid and peoples opinions of him count for nothing. He’s come from one of Europe’s top clubs, decent players can look potentially brilliant coming from such clubs. Especially from a club that wins the League at a canter most years and last year playing with the Worlds best player. Me thinks you’re over egging what we have and using it as a stick to beat Silva with. We are a decent team on our day. Just like the majority of Premier League sides, on their day day they can look very good. We have decent players. The thing that defines decent players, good players and great players is consistency.
2. Gomes-flatters to deceive, classy on his day but consistently, certainly not. Gbamin? How do we know he’s a decent player? Delph? Really?

We only need a defender, Midfielder MAYBE depending how Gomes/Delph hold up via injuries, It's not worth it to do January business, You get absolute rinsed for fees/wages/agent fees because it's mid season, If we can shift a few outs then by all means go out and buy but we should not spend big money in January because it's just proper silly prices.
Well deals in the summer will be easier/cheaper that's a fact.

It's not a fact, it's BS.
I'm glad that you recognise the need to sign a CB in January, but the reason we need a CB is because we failed to get one during that period where it's really easy and cheap to sign players. Our central midfield is dreadful, as is our attack.

Probably because our manager wouldn't want anyone else but Zouma and when that was confirmed not happening Brands left it too late to get anyone and then his back up Tomori went teets up because they sold Luiz to Arsenal and then United wouldn't give us Rojo because it was perm or nothing.
I would imagine we will do business, but only if the right players are available at the right price.
For me, this season is on its arse, its not over, but lets be honest it hasnt really gone to plan, pointless overpaying for players when we can wait a few months and save 10 or 20m on each 1, unless we get an upturn and look like challenging the top 4.
