he went to italy for family reasons. doesn't make us or him look bad, just for the best

Just a guess, but that sounds about right,all the dressing room fall out, rumours of player unrest etc, are probably just that.We aren't playing to last seasons high standards and a player leaving because his family prefer living in another country is unfortunate in the position we're in but forcing him to stay would have been counter-productive

Eto'o hasn't done anything. We've won a lot more games with Osman in the team, at least he brings balance.

With Eto'o heading out at least we know that we'll be bringing in another attacking player this window. If we didn't then the fume levels would reach crazy proportions!

While I'm relatively confident (if no verging on certain) we have someone else lined up, nothing would surprise me this season.

We may have someone lined up as a replacement, however with our organisation and luck this season it could all go incredibly wrong.

I've reached the point of laughing at some of ours woes that I'll say it again... nothing will surprise me this season.

I think that's unduly pessimistic, tbh. I wouldnt rule it out like. But can you imagine the meltdown if we sink below 12th and the window slams shut with no additions to replace Eto's departure?

I dont think that will be countenanced at the top. If Martinez wants a replacement I believe that freeing up of a big wage just gave him the green light.
