Big fat no to Scott Sinclair for me; he's been out of the fold for too long to be any good now I'd imagine.

GK: I'm not really sure how to interpret Martinez's comment yesterday about "long-term solution". Does he mean sign a new #1 now that's experienced and fairly young (i.e. a Neto) or does he mean sign someone young we can nurture for the long-term a la Nicholls? I really hope it is the former and not the latter as it means we're stuck with Howard/Joel for a while.

CB: Reid - Yes depending on fee/wages if there's no alternative. Personally - not that he'd choose us over the European giants - but I'd quite like to see us go for Fabian Schar if possible; he's out of contract in the summer and already said he won't be staying.

Wingers: Shaqiri? Doubtful - don't think we have a spare £11m knocking around in January we'd spend but who knows, I didn't think we had £28m for Rom in the summer. Januzaj on loan? Meh, talented but not sure he'd make an immediate impact we need. What do people think of sending Atsu back to Chelsea and bringing in Salah on 6 month loan?

Sending atsu back for salah would be ideal but can't see it happening.

I'd do the swap for salad but I'm sure Chelsea will have better offers

Yeah, just looked up. He is on £2.1 million a year net. £44k a week after tax.
 
Now the window has been open for six days, no rumours! All very quiet on the Goodison front. Is there any real info out there of possible new faces?
 
We really need to table a bid for Virgil Van Dijk. He shows real class and is the perfect player to partner Stones.

I'm 99% sure he could make the step up too. We need to take a chance on him while we can. I said the same with Wanyama; I was disappointed when only Southampton showed interest. Now he's one of the best DM's in the league.
