I didn't say other teams don't do it, it's a good finacial model to work to. (unless you are a billionaires plaything)

The "Everton that" was more in relation to the reaction of the majority of fans who become attached to the players in the shirt.

Baines didn't agitate for a move and maintained his standards through all the speculation. *If* Coleman has had contact via his agent from bigger teams on the global stage, he may well be tempted.

It's up to the club to either:

Keep a potentially de-motivated player

or

Get the best deal they can.

I bet it's the latter.

Exactly - we need him for the Europa and he won't loose value. Utd aren't desperate as they look safe for a top 3 finish and don't have Europe.
