Jan Mucha vs Tim Howard

Just watching Mr.Mucha (or mooka it's pronounced apparently) for Slovakia. Looks a bit dodge to me, very unorthadox. Bit Barthez like. No competition for Howard. Not yet anyway.
Any thoughts?

John Harkes, the guy that's co-commentating this game in America, just said that Mucha will have a tough challenge ahead of him at Everton trying to beat Howard for the starting spot. Have to agree with him.

How old is Mucha anyway?

(and by 'this game' I mean the Slovakia-Paraguay game. I have a feeling this thread will last all season).

He just made a great save from Santa Cruz.

I think he'll get better and less a flapper when we get hold of him and coaching him. He'll be more decisive and look more confident at ours

He'll get better and better at Everton am certain

He's made 1 good save in the game.

Isn't he like 26-27, that's still young for a keeper, could do a lot of improving at Everton.

27.

Came on a free so there's nothing to lose

I thought he looked quite handy.

His kicking is pretty flat but his athleticism and ticker are quite good.

When Howard goes to Barca we'll have a good replacement.

I watched the lad in the first game and he looked ok to me.

England have not exactly set the world alight, as have others, so it's not a good time to be judging anyone.

Just a gentle reminder that Tim Howard is our first choice keeper, this Mucha cat was signed on a free and likely to be only back up/Carling Cup unless he turns out ace.
