The worst part was that having given the ball away for the second, he actually could have cleared it when it came into the box but made a hash of that as well.
On the whole, he's a very decent defender. Him, branthwaite and pickford form a very good anchor at the back.

Put in a performance that some of our recent CBs would put in every single week and gets consigned to the bin. Along with Pickford is one of our most reliable performers week in and week out.

That said, don’t mind at all that Moyes made a big point of saying we gave away to horrendous goals. Very much pointed at Tarks. Doesn’t matter good he’s played since he came here, or how good he was at Burnley, bad game = manager can criticise. Dyche would have said we had plenty of opportunities to avoid danger before it got to him, everyone’s responsibility etc etc.

He does struggle massively to put a mistake behind him during a game; makes one, it’s a guarantee he will make more rash challenges and careless decisions. Strange with all his experience.

It really does surprise me how many people dont realize players have bad games. Or good games. A players best game and worst game have no bearing on whether they are any good, or worth starting. The difference with good players is not whether they have bad games, but that they are less frequent and more consistent than average or poor players.

When he has a bad game, oh boy it's a bad one, do think he's showing signs of being in the slide this season, was poor early on - carrying a knock apparently but yesterday was a horror show, 33 soon and never blessed with pace means when he hits the wall it'll be very noticeable.

Need to definitely be looking at how to replace him this summer
