I’m not sure Jake attacks the ball in the air very well you know. For a big guy, he lacks the timing/aggression of Tarks.
Needs to start the next 5 at CB though so we we can see how he goes.
Exactly. Time to see how ready he is and what he needs to work on in the off-season. Good move to shut down Tarks for multiple reasons. Save him for next year and get a good look at Jakey in his natural position.I’m not sure Jake attacks the ball in the air very well you know. For a big guy, he lacks the timing/aggression of Tarks.

Or maybe longer. Remember Snodin doing his hamstring when he was about to get an England call up. Sadly was never as good afterwards.Looks a bad one if hes going to miss part of preseason.

SadlyTotally gutted. His goal against the RS, his leadership, his rock-solid defending, even his raking cross field passes - the man has been immense for us.
I thought he was indestructible, but it sounds like we need to be looking for a successor sooner rather than later.

It makes a centre back essential on the window, I would have been inclined to say that it wasn't too high a priority before this injury, as O'Brien could have moved inside to cover for injuries. I was confident that Tarkowski had at least another season in him, especially considering that his game has never been based on pace, the problem now is that after an injury like this, at his age, he will not be a player we can rely on to be fit and available every week.
Yes a back up who is not Keane or Holgate, if you read the post I said I hadn't thought it was essential because O'Brien could move inside to cover injuries. Now however, if we have an injury to either O' Brien or Branthwaite, we can no longer depend on Tarkowski being fit to stand inI'm not not sure how you can watch us and come to this idea. Goals are needed, more than anything...or are you talking a backup CB?
