I wouldn’t either to be fair. I’d give it a go but alongside Keane I’d be made to look like a 48 year old unfit Dad who thinks he’s Maldini. And just because my 9 year old daughter thinks that too is not relevant here!

Agree with all those saying he's been playing horribly. Just like Keane, he doesn't deserve to be playing right now. Obviously it will never happen under this manager, but I'd like to see O'Brien in alongside Branthwaite asap, even if it's just to send a message to Tarks. You cannot be at the heart of a defence, concede 13 goals in 4 games, and expect to maintain a starting spot regardless of how bad your partner is.

Watkins was dominating Keane yesterday, even after the first goal he was all over Keane at every opportunity - Tarkowski as a supposed leader ought to have taken control of that and switched sides or at least given the manager the chance of changing them over.

Same as last season till Branthwaite came in, don’t think he’s fully fit either but Dyche is gonna flog him to avoid giving O’Brien a chance
He's fine alongside a quality partner like Branthwaite or Mina, but you really see what a basic yard dog he is when the onus is on him to lead.

Said it all season he has looked very poor / awful, we need Branthwaite back asap to see if Tarkowski improves. If not time to give Branthwaite / Obrien a go, one good thing about that is not many teams will dominate us in the air. Dyche though will obviously think otherwise 🤬

Must be carrying a knock since pre season he hasn't been his solid self and doesn't seem to be getting in the refs ear much either just doesn't look happy

Not getting the same vibe off him from last season that’s for sure.

Love Tarks but he needs to take it by the scruff of the neck. He’s seemed disinterested this season, I hope it changes as he is the only true leader we have in the squad.

Seems abundantly clear that he's playing injured, and probably quite badly injured at that. From memory last season he played the final month with a broken born or bad soft tissue injury (can't remember which) and it wasn't even mentioned in Dyche's pre-match pressers, this season he's being called out by name every week as a potential doubt... we all know Tarks is tough as nails, so to be named as a doubt every week must mean he is really struggling. To me a clear indicator is that for years he has led the league for blocked shots by a distance, you would always see him flying around with last ditch slides to make blocks etc - this season I can't recall him doing that even once. His back is surely causing him a lot of grief.

What he really needs is probably a good month of rest to recover, but the reality is that the team isn't in a position to afford that, particularly with Branthwaite still not ready yet.

Got to agree. He doesn't have the leap he's been known for. He seems like a bog standard CB, which he was far from last season.
