I feel like that won't happen because he can go back to South America, dominate, maybe bag a Libertadores and extend his career to the 2026 World Cup by essentially being a part timer in the mean time.

Luckily he doesn't rely on pace. I can see him having a few years in the prem as he's very much in the David silva mold.

Id say he should be able to play till 33 at this level so a new 3 year deal makes sense.
