Thing is with James, even if hes having a poor game he'll still do 1 or 2 things world class each match where he provides a clear chance or scores himself.

Spot on Zat, even though, by his standard he was poor first half, you loathe to take him off for that very reason.

Great ball by Doucoure too, had to hit it hard to get it past the defender, but the first touch to bring it down and a fantastic, unstoppable half volley right in the corner....Swoon, not his best game by any stretch but my god, just love watching him play football.

Won’t get the plaudits but it’s a better goal from a technique point than fernandes. Like you say he didn’t play particularly well but given half a sniff and he’s banged one in

He needs to start releasing the ball a bit earlier. It isn't La Liga or the Bundesliga. Currently, he is taking too many touches and allowing the cloggers to leave a foot in. He has the quality to move the ball a bit earlier.

mate you actually criticising James timing ? You ever thought he’s holding it because he’s not scared of pressure and not panicking , he’s also doing this while trying to spot a killer pass and wait for one of our midfielders to actually move into space for him

We need to get better at passing forward so he doesn't have to come so deep. His quality in and around the box is great and he needs to be able to stay there.
