I remember that game well at Goodison. We had been linked with Keane throughout that season, but on the basis of that one game I didn’t want him anywhere near the club. It’s a pity Koeman/Walsh couldn’t see it either.

Finding a striker capable of 20+ goals (in an awful side, no less) is rare. There aren't many about and we've needed one for years.

Number 10's past their best are ten a penny. We should know better than most, we paid a fortune for the last one. We don't need one more.

I wouldn't target Ings. I wouldn't target Rodriguez. But if such a situation arose and we had £35m to spend on either of them, I'd be picking Ings every day of the week.

Never really been impressed with him, he had a good World Cup all them years ago and has never really done anything since. 187 apps in 5 1/2 years, been sent out on loan. Would have thought the pace of the game in Spain would suit him too. Over here? I can’t see it, would certainly be an exciting signing and raise our profile but realistically can’t see him being a success over here. But if Carlo thinks he can and he’s managed him and knows all about him then I’m all in for it! What do I know.

He's got 12 at the half way mark now. More than Kane, Salah, Sterling, Mane. He's got the 3rd best goal per minute ratio in the league, behind only Vardy and Aguero.

Odds on he'll break 20 this season, and he's playing for Southampton.

For what it’s worth mate, I don’t think saying you’d rather have Danny Ings over James Rodriguez makes you edgy or contrarian.

I just think it makes you a massive helmet.
