Remember thinking how good Michael Keane looked in that team. Different types of players obviously but you're right we should be looking at attracting better players.

I understand that you can pluck out an Andy Robinson out of a smaller team but the odds of them becoming world beaters are so slim.

We need to get the monopoly money out if we want to win trophies.
I never thought Keane was any good,he's to soft. Remember Lukaku absolutely murdering him a few seasons back and coming to my conclusions about him back then.

Indeed.

Having said that, I was ecstatic when we signed a certain centre back from a Welsh club based on how he looked immense every time he came here

Same am 33 and for the first 10 minutes of our Thursday night 5 aside game,I still think I could do job...15 minutes in,Reality hits home.
I'm 37 and we had a Staff V Students basketball game just before the Christmas holidays I was done after 5 minutes... new year's resolution get back to a decent fitness level.

Haven’t you been banging the Danny Ings drum??

No.

I just said I'd rather have Ings than Rodriguez if it was either / or. That's not the same thing.

I also said that if I had £35m I'd sign neither.

Class player but is he a sick note?
In all seriousness I'm not sure hes that suited to English football..
Not for me, I don’t actually think he’s all that. Made out of wet cardboard too.
He was great at Bayern just a bit of a risk given his injury record -- he'll cost a bomb in wages and fees alike to possibly miss a lot of the season.
for 40m? no thanks
I feel like big clubs wouldn't touch him because of this. So maybe we shouldn't?
He’s a big name, but I’d prefer to be spending that type of money on someone else and younger.
Swerve...
I really want to but his age and injuries won't allow me to enjoy the thought
No I don't think he will suit us and I don't think we are after him or should be. Good player but a lot of injuries and a number ten.
This reminds me of when the rs signed Morientes. Too much money for a hyped up player
He's 29 at the end of the season. £50m would be far too much money for somebody with effectively no resale value. Rather goes against the model we are supposedly looking to operate
It does feel v surreal, but I genuinely would swerve this lad, we can't afford a treatment room table-warmer at the price quoted
I probably agree, we arent talking a few niggles here, hes basically been injured for 5 years.
And hes on 270k a week.
29 in July and his knee is goosed.
no thank you.
Class player but perhaps go after someone similar without the injury record Rodriguez has.
He's knackered
We shouldn't be anywhere near him

.......but when I say it, it's 'edgy' and 'contrarian'
