I agree with everyone here, milner is hard working and has class, be a great signing IMO.

Ive wanted him at Everton ever since I saw him at Leeds.

Hello all

Maybe well i hope Downing is on his way out to us and Boro buy Milner, i'm hoping they both play on the left wing. I'm in Transfer Fever Mode.

I'd rather have Milner than Downing any day. Especially considering he'd be about half the price. I haven't seen an awful lot to be fair but when I have seen him, Downing has disappointed. On the other hand, Milner looks class to me.

I would prefer Downing, I think he is a better player than Milner as well as being left footed, however for the price Milner would be a much better purchase.

Great little player, would be more than happy to see him in an everton shirt. Just remember every one looks [Poor language removed] at newcastle!!

you just said it, we don't need him as we have no need for small player, isn't Osman, Pienaar, Arteta or possibly Cahill as well we must have the smallest average height in the midfield line up in the hole league.

read somewhere that Steven Pienaar was 5'10".... that must make me about 6'9" :D

At £5m I would snap their hand off. He's a pure flair player who doesn't [Poor language removed] out of taking people on which would make him a rare commodity at Goodison. We need squad rotation/cover for Arteta. Osman, Pienarr.

good player, would sign him but i would hope moyes would be lookingat a much higher standard for our midfield general

I dont or cant really see the fuss about Downing, everytime I`ve seen him he flatters to decieve. Also for me you have to question in this day and age plus the chances he`s had to move to a bigger club with real ambition why has he stayed at `Boro?.Yes I know its his home town club and that but even so, hasnt he just signed a new 4year deal as well?
Think Milner would be a better option he looks like hes` got more to his game.Only my opinion like.

yeah milner would be a good buy for all the reasons stated above. yup he has all those 'work ethic' assests that moyes clearly appreciates and cultivates so skilfully. however next season we will need more than functional palyes to progress. we absolutely need some high quality signings. two at least. players to set the pace and with the class and pedigree to raise the bar and build expectations from the dressing room to the stands. i also think we should push to make such signings soon - two reasons: 1. send out a strong message to signal our intention and attract interest from other potential signings. 2. ensure a good pre-season. cars has already gone. its essential we begin the campaign with a tight and together team. we're already considered 'best of the rest' next season many will be targeting us as a 'team to beat'. coyMOYES! (y)

I see him as a younger version of Gareth Barry - with a bit more pace and flair. works hard, does the simple things well and can spot a pass and execute it.

For £5m, at 22 or 23, whats evetr he is, i would snap their hands off. :)
