He's got a few decent goals, but his first for us actually made me laugh.
That goalkeeping. He scored another against Newcastle that literally went through Tim Krul's body.

He did score a good goal against United though, despite the fact every time he enters the opposition box he falls over for some reason. That goalkeeping. He scored another against Newcastle that literally went through Tim Krul's body.

For what it's worth, Blind may be a 'water carrier type', but he's no mug.
Otherwise sort of agree - Schneiderlin did have a month or so where he was as good, if not better at certain things, than McCarthy in the first season. From then on he's been decent, but we've not done him any favours because of the way we set up.
Ninja edit: Schneiderlin is 5 times the player going forward compared to McCarthy though, which, imo, makes him the better player overall.
Schneiderlin improved us massively in the second half of last season K. He was actually a joy to watch. McCarthy has only ever complimented good players around him with his energy and work rate, he's never done anything actually impressive with the ball at his feet himself.
Btw Blind isn't a workhorse, he's a brilliant player.
Well, I am going to have to disagree witchoo about Blind being brilliant, Mike![]()
McCarthy is nowhere close to the level of Schneiderlin Mccarthy is a bang average headless chicken. Schneiderlein is struggling for form at a time no one in the team is playing well. And that's not even to mention Mccarthys diabolical fitness record. SELL.
He's not - offers goals, actual forward passing and plays in about 70 positions on the pitch effectively, and has done that for years on.Indeed.
He is no "mug".
Which is about the best can be said of him and illustrates the point that every player whom signs for Manchester United is not always above a "McCarthy level player" as Mike claims![]()

McCarthy has literally had one good season in England.
Well he is, I'd love him at Everton as a left sided centre back and is also a very capable left back. Mourinho loves him, that's enough for me to decipher that he's technically better than James Wigan Athletic McCarthy.
Well you can't have it both ways, Mike.
If Jose loving Blind is going to be your yardstick for measuring the abilities of Blind then the fact that Jose ditched Morgan Southampton Schneiderlin at the earliest opportunity undermines the case you were making in the first place re Morgan v Jimmy Mac![]()
Aye but you can't really base a full opinion on a player on a good season and then (and before) literally nothing else, and compare it to a player who's been here for half a season, surely? Or say that this one-season-wonder is miraculously better than players who have performed at a higher level for longer, i.e. both Blind and Schneiderlin. And that is what we are debating.
That "one good season in England" was his first season here and during that season he looked far better than Schneiderlin has looked in his just over half a season with us thus far
To deny that fact is to stick yer head in the sand![]()
I agree about blind, Very good player and can cover a number of positions.Well he is, I'd love him at Everton as a left sided centre back and is also a very capable left back. Mourinho loves him, that's enough for me to decipher that he's technically better than James Wigan Athletic McCarthy.
