He did score a good goal against United though, despite the fact every time he enters the opposition box he falls over for some reason.

Well, I am going to have to disagree witchoo about Blind being brilliant, Mike
Well he is, I'd love him at Everton as a left sided centre back and is also a very capable left back. Mourinho loves him, that's enough for me to decipher that he's technically better than James Wigan Athletic McCarthy.
He's not - offers goals, actual forward passing and plays in about 70 positions on the pitch effectively, and has done that for years on.Indeed.

McCarthy has literally had one good season in England.
And that is what we are debating.
That "one good season in England" was his first season here and during that season he looked far better than Schneiderlin has looked in his just over half a season with us thus far

If Jose loving Blind is going to be your yardstick for measuring the abilities of Blind then the fact that Jose ditched Morgan Southampton Schneiderlin at the earliest opportunity undermines the case you were making in the first place re Morgan v Jimmy Mac

No it's not my yardstick, my yardstick is having watched him in the Premier League for the past 3 years and seeing for myself that he is a very good footballer. Mourinho ditching Schneiderlin (for £24m, more than anyone will ever be willing to pay for McCarthy) probably has more to do with them buying Pogba for a then world record fee to replace him.
Aye but you can't really base a full opinion on a player on a good season and then (and before) literally nothing else, and compare it to a player who's been here for half a season, surely? Or say that this one-season-wonder is miraculously better than players who have performed at a higher level for longer, i.e. both Blind and Schneiderlin.And that is what we are debating.

And Schneiderlin vs. Blind - Jose got rid of Morgan mostly because he had 100m Pogba there, as well as a lot of others, and still got rid of him for 20-odd mil. No one in their right mind should pay that much for Jimmy Mac (however, due to financial reasons - they are welcome to lol ). Blind can play in midfield, left back, centre back, of course he's gonna keep one of the most versatile players in the Prem...

I agree about blind, Very good player and can cover a number of positions.
I think he's out of contract next summer.
