What his statement doesn't say is that prior to this International break, McCarthy hadn't played any football for Everton since coming off early in the League cup game against Yeovil on August 23rd. He then plays 2 full games 3 days apart for Ireland, comes back injured and doesn't play for Everton again until Swansea on November 19th.

By contrast, the 3 games in 8 days he played for us were all pre season friendlies, in which he probably only played 45 minutes in each as part of his pre season fitness programme.

Koeman's lost the plot here. He needs to shut up and so does O'Neill, but its always Koeman that ramps it up. In a week where Coleman is lying flat on his back in a hospital bed it is the most disgraceful bit of Everton management I've ever witnessed. That lad's career is in the balance and all he can do is to keep a feud going with his international team mate and manager.

Just STFU and let it rest.

Is there anyone down there at that club with the balls to read him the riot act on this? Doesn't look like.

Thought that was all paper talk tbh. The Sissoko deal fell through at about 8 pm on deadline day once we realised he wasn't turning up for his medical. If McCarthy was on his way anywhere at the time he'd be gone.

He also took him off after about 25 mins in an early game (West Brom I think), totally embarrassed the lad.
