Koeman and Mourinho in the same sentence on winners.
Just no.
The former is a genius; the latter hasn't won an egg cup for a decade.
An egg cup lol
Good ol' Dave

Yeah this old chestnut, to be a winner you have to be arrogant, unlikeable etc it's a straw man argument. Winners come in all shapes and sizes. Kendall was a winner, ruthless but still conducted himself like a gentleman and was a class act. They are not mutually exclusive.Bot. and it usually goes hand in hand...HK and Royle, for example.
Koeman a genius?Koeman and Mourinho in the same sentence on winners.
Just no.

Some might say it's pity you don't occasionally apply the the qualities you claim to look for in an Everton manager to yourself. He;s unlikeable. I know people who tell me I'm wrong and that Koeman is the man to get this job done, to my consternation! But I dont find anyone who'll like him all that much.
I dont know, you may think it's all inconsequential, but I like an Everton manager to behave old school and with dignity. To get along with others and even suffer the idiocy of others when they'd rather not. A man of class with a sense of humour. Koeman cant do that. He's not man enough to walk that walk. He's an arrogant man and I dont care for him one bit. Never an Everton manager in terms of class in a month of Sundays. It might suit Ajax or some other boorish hell hole but not Everton Football Club.
Ok mate I'll accept that. It isn't about nationality. However, it is about divided loyalties which I think you have in this case, and I don't. I'm looking at it purely from an Everton perspective. I was also wound up a bit by your previous comments about you not being prepared to accept an alternative point of view; one which I happen to agree with, and I guess my post was a reaction to that.
We're never going to agree on McCarthy's role in this, and I think we may have had a similar exchange of views earlier on in this thread, so let's just agree to disagree and put it to bed eh.
One thing I will add is that I believe the club are now (belatedly admittedly) doing their best to sort out this long term hamstring issue McCarthy clearly has, and it will benefit both club and country if this happens sooner rather than later. In my opinion it won't happen any time soon whilst the player continues to make these decisions. At the end of the day, it's his own career that's on the line here.
On a different note you said Koeman has made it clear that he is happy for him to leave. What makes you think that?. As far as I can see he's played him whenever he's been fully fit, which admittedly hasn't been very often. For a moment let's forget what happened last week. I think a fully fit McCarthy would be an asset for any team in the premier. He may not be a starter in all of them, but I don't think there's a club who's squad he isn't good enough for. But I have been advocating selling him in the summer, simply because I believe we have too many of the same type of player, and we need a midfielder with a different skill set to give the squad a better balance. I would sell him over Besic purely because he'd fetch a better price for us to spend on a suitable replacement. But I never really thought it would happen because I believed Koeman would want to keep him in the squad. So your comments above surprised me a little.
We've outgrown this fella now. On his day he's good, but they are few and far between. You can always tell a standard of player by the clubs and/or leagues interested in them. McCarthy had Sunderland and Newcastle wanting him. We'd of been better with him gone and Sissoko in.
Thought that was all paper talk tbh. The Sissoko deal fell through at about 8 pm on deadline day once we realised he wasn't turning up for his medical. If McCarthy was on his way anywhere at the time he'd be gone.He was being sold until the Sissoko deal fell through, then there was the whole embarrassing Moshiri "he is part of the family" back track.
All about opinions when it come to football so no worries if we don't agree.
Terrible this, however Everton and Ireland medical staff can come out blameless.
The player, and Ireland management entirely culpable.
The player at least you can understand him wanting to play cos he feels ok, the management going against the recommendations of EFC and Ireland medical staff is shocking.
Clearly wasnt fit, as the medical staff and his subsequent recurrent injury shows.
Koeman will get rid. JM usually good when he plays and is RK's type of player, but having someone for 15-20 games a year just isn't enough.
He'd also been signed by UTD who beat off Spurs. He then went to Everton, who as proved the other week are streets ahead of WBA.Indeed.
And we had to beat off West Bromwich Albion to sign Schneiderlin
That's the only other club we know off was interested in Morgsie.
And no, we dodged a bullet with that bloke Sissoko
Mr. Mo was better advised keeping Jimmy Mac in the "family".
I don't get this.
How can a manager pick a player for a team against his own medical team's advice?
O'Neill is a right berk.

We'd of gotten more game time out of sissoko than mr cheesestrings
Cos he thinks he's billy big b0llocks and wanted to get one over on Koeman to boot.
JM takes some blame, but you can kind of excuse him to a point for wanting to play, most players (at least those with a decent attitude), will push themselves further than they should.
Blame lies squarely with O'Neill and Keane.
Ok, let's play the waiting game and see where he ends up.But he was only wanted by Baggies this time round, Ian.
Come on, man up.
Not one of your better analogies and ol' Khal was in like Flint

He did it because he suffers no consequence for the outcome. National teams will abuse the players' desire to play by using them even when they aren't fit because.... they can just call up someone else if something happens to go awry.I don't get this.

Right, you're saying Martin O'Neill picked his key midfielder, who said he was fit, to play in a crucial World Cup qualifier to get one over on Koeman?Cos he thinks he's billy big b0llocks and wanted to get one over on Koeman to boot.
