He used to be an "Everton-style" passionate tough tackling player, for a couple of games. Today is a typical performance - does nothing under pressure, no passing, only goes sideways or really obvious passes. Just don't get why Besic isn't given the chance to compete, apart from obviously because he's a Roberto old favourite

Terrible to watch in an Ireland shirt, even worse for Everton. Has been woeful for two seasons, just another busy-looking midfielder who does F all.
I sincerely hope this is the case. He showed such promise in the first season but since then his limited passing has been regularly exposed.
Too much crab football in the midfield, restricted movement up and down the pitch and lack of tactics hasn't helped his cause either.
Will he fulfil us again? Not sure, but not writing him off just yet. If he can't reignite his performances next season, then yes it's time to go.

I remember a time when people used to fume over gravesen being a headless chicken.
I look at McCarthy and see someone who offers far less than that gravesen, who's fitness is well below, and someone's distribution is so bad, he may aswell wear an oppositions shirt.
The difference is, gravesen cost us £2.5m, McCarthy cost us how much? Over £12m?
He offers absolute Frigg all, and in a season of new lows, he's undoubtedly been the real low point.
Maybe it was just in our heads that first season, but he's a shadow of a player that first joined us... That said, so is Barkley, Stones etc... Maybe there is a coincidence.

He's done absolutely nothing. That's the problem. He's completely invisible, all the time.
I think he put in a standing tackle about 30 minutes in tonight - that's been all he's contributed in the last three months.
