McCarthy ran straight down to the street end, spoke to the stewards about taking his shirt off, in the end he took it off and passed it to a young lad at the front. Brilliant gesture from our main man in the middle.
 
Having him and Barry together for the foreseeable (barring injuries) is absolutely imperative to a successful season. I'd actually say they're our two most important players. Without either of them out central midfield looks suspect.
 
McCarthy = MOTM today. Played the role of 2 men in the centre and covered an enormous amount of ground and also got the assist of course.

Fantastic performance -- he and coleman play well off each other also.
 

To think people mocked the club for spending 13 million on him, quality player who will get better and better, I haven't a player with an engine like his, never stops. could be a real legend for us, he was playing Scottish football at the age of 15, he's a real talent for us.

Hate to say it after a win -- he covered Osmans creaking legs and was all over the show, running around and covering other players as they went forward. I thought positionally and tactically excellent.
 
The more you watch him individually during a game, the more you realise how good he is going to be. The most complete midfielder we've had for quite some time and a future captain in the making.
