I personally can't see how youve come to that conclusion. Barry-McCarthy is our best combo imho

suppose it's horses for courses really.
against teams who are going to allow us possession, I think Gibson is a better unlocker than Barry, Gibson with an eye up looking for passes forward whilst McCarthy tidies up around him.
against teams that aren't going to give us possession, I think Barry is better sitting in there disrupting whilst McCarthy terriers around trying to drive forward but still helping out defensively.

If it was a half decent source I'd probably be concerned. Pure speculation though. Interesting thing about Distin/Mirallas and I suspect Eto'o too, being the ones who caused the rift. Mirallas is the last of those 3 still here and he'll probably go, so even if there is truth to the article it would have no basis after that.
