It’s a big big black mark on his record of what was a very good Everton career. Goes down as one of the better defenders on our list of ‘on his day superb and has many days, but also could make that killer mistake at any time’

I liked Distin. Strong, powerful, yes he had a error in him every now and then but he had a good relationship with his defenders. World beater? No. Play a big part in us being decent for a bit, yes.

First season he looked brilliant. Probably helped he was the first centre half we'd had in years who wasn't snail paced. Very hit and miss after that. Jagielka and Lescott far more consistent.

I thought I was the only one! He was the most one footed player I ever remember playing for us and knew it would hurt us one day.. I can think of a couple instances where his inability to use his right foot cost us.
