I really liked McCarthy at one point I have to say. Damn shame he got injured so much and his proclivity for turning up for Ireland after not playing for us for months soured things. Overall, selling him for the same amount we bought Delph for is great business.

You could say that for Moyes: no fee, small fee, money barely back on all but a few of his purchases. Fellaini and Stones were probably the best profits we got on Moyes' signings. Arteta a good profit.

Lukaku was quite simply the signing of the 21st Century. Value on the pitch + profit. Cleverley and Deulofeu fees were profitable too.

Parkinson was a class above, not even close. Go and watch re-runs of the cup semi v spurs and the final v Utd if you don’t believe me
