Must admit I got a semi when I read that Bruce was set to pursue Macca and Bolassie once he's at Newcastle.

Quite how anybody knows this when he hasn't even been appointed yet, suggests it is fabrication to sell papers or advertising .... but still .... titillating.

Trying to get the locals onside by trailing an exciting series of signings?

Or trying to start a riot so he can pick up his severance pay without having to even get on the M62?

The bolassi mention suggests the latter ..

He’s going to go for nothing.
One of the worst transfers in British football history.

27m fee, a year of 70k a week wages, then three years of paying him about 30/40k a week to top up what he was earning while away on loan, then ultimately released on a free transfer.

Likely recouped about 5m in loan fees tops.

Wasted about 32/33m on him. Diabolical.

I bet these figures aren't even that wrong either.

Sandro another one who will have cost us over 20m before we release him. And McCarthy about 30m in fees and wages in his 5 years with us, around the same as Niasse.

Schneiderlin with about 35m in fees and wages over his contract, and Tosun close to 40m over three seasons.

Walcott another 25m so far.

Ouch.
