He’s hardly played at all, when he does it’s him coming back from injury for him to get injured before he’s fully fit. It’s a waste of a shirt.

With him being willing to do the side’s dirty work, he may just be the answer to Silva’s preferred 4-3-3 (where Morgan Schneiderlin is too lazy).

Ok not a long term fix but he could fill that “number 6” roll that Silva’s said his system required but we missed out on in summer.

No he might not be a long term fix, going by his list of injuries,but those injuries are the only thing that have stopped him
from being an influential player with the Blues, in my opinion, I’m hoping makes a comeback very soon, gets a long
injury free spell and proves to many, maybe the majority on here, that he has plenty to offer this team, good luck James.

Quality player.
Some on here appear to have forgotten that he put in numerous impressive displays alongside Gareth Barry in Martinez’s first season, and that midfield partnership was instrumental in us obtaining our record PL points haul. He’s been unlucky with injuries since.
If he can regain full fitness and avoid another bad injury for a while, it will be good news for us.

We could have done with his steel on countless occasions this season, sick of seeing our midfield getting walked through or bullied out if the game.

Exactly. We need someone in there actually closing down the opposition and fighting for the ball. McCarthy is a much better option than the brand of schoolboy football that we get from Davies.
