So we are agreed that 14m is too high, at least we have middle ground.

JOG ON LAD

Only McCarthy and his performances for Everton - should we sign him - will determine if he is worth £14M

If he becomes the next Roy Keane - Bargain! If hes the next Nyarko...gutted!

Were paying a premium cos its TDD. End of. Just like we did when we signed fellaini for £15 at 23:53 that TDD.

This is why we also need Man U to pay TDD over the odds inflation.

Honest to god though, pulling up Wigan fans forums is pointless. 50% of people on here think Steven naismith had a good game the other night. Id just make your own mind up on someone and stick to it for your own reasons.

Mcarthy is not worth 15M but what players are worth there fees? If on one hand some are expecting up to 30-35M for Fellaini (no chance btw) then there gonna want 15M for Mcarthy. Personally think Fellaini will end up bout 25M whilst Mcarthy 10-12M roughly half the price. I don't think your gonna find a CM player international and 22 yrs of age with his quality's and potential much cheaper. He could be average, could be boss. All players are somewhat of a gamble. Personally don't think Fellaini is the right quality player for utd but hey ho!

It's more down to how astute we are with our budget.

£14million will make him our 2nd most expensive player we've ever bought. He's not guaranteed to score goals. He's not guaranteed to get assists. He's just a good player.

So of were speaking about high fees... I would rather we spunked the lot on a player who will win us games, get goals, or create them.

I said the Fellaini and Bale situations are completely different, nowhere did i agree in any way that Spurs 'raped' anybody.

Clear implication buddy. Can't backtrack now.

And well done on continuing to ignore the other points btw. Best way to sway others to your way of thinking, I'm sure.

Thanks for playing, better luck next time. We're done here.

When we paid £15M for Fellaini - IMO...he was uber gash.

Few years of development later...anything can happen.

I actually think McCarthy is at a better starting point as a DM than Fellaini was. Have to make sure his dar doesnt go chatting wham everytime his kid is on international duty though.

Ive said for a while now he would be a cracking little player mate.

Maybe you should watch more football, get on my level?

NAILED IT

You seen much of McCarthy to form that strong opinion mate then? Or just the two youtube clips linked?

Yes, I can see you backtracking. Just think on next time you post please mate ok.

Martinez should be looking elsewhere. No reason why the money for Fellaini can't bring in both a midfielder and a striker.

Would there not be money left over if we sold Fellaini and bought McCarthy though?

Opinions are like arseholes....... They don't play for Everton. I'll be honest; I never wanted Bobby as our manager, but he's got my backing. As I stated earlier, I haven't seen enough of James Mc to make a judgement. We can all speculate as to how much he's worth, but tbh, I could nay give a sh*t if he costs 14p or £14 million. If he gives 100% in an Everton shirt, then he'll get my 100% support when he steps on the pitch.

There would be, but the question is how much, and will it be enough to buy/loan the three other players we still need (striker, right mid and centre mid)? At least, that's why I'd be annoyed if we sold Felli for £25m and bought McCarthy for £10m or more.

That's what it hinges on. SSN just said we're signing McCarthy irrespective of the Fellaini deal, if that's the case we should be spending all kinds today. Believe it when I see it though.
