Watching the replay while I work this morning, and there's a great moment.
In the second half, Gibbs-White, aka John Oates,* bundles Tarkowski into Pickford when Pickford's going up for a ball. A dangerous play as Tark, as projected by Gibbs-White, cuts Pickford's legs out from under him and Pickford goes sprawling.
Pickford jumps up red-faced and, like the Pickford we all know and love, is gesticulating wildly and screaming at the ref, at Tark, at a half dozen Forest players, etc.
Garner comes over, stone faced, not even meeting Pickford's eyes, and pats Pickford a couple of times in the chest, hard, as if to say, "there's a good lad, come on now, get it out of your system... now shut up."
This man is of a stripe to captain a club for a decade.
