2025/26 James Garner

Dunno if individually he's better at right back or centre mid.

But as a team we are 100x better with him playing right back.
17 games in central midfield last season and just one assist against Leicester (albeit a delightful through ball for Beto) and 26 games the season before in central midfield and only a goal against Bournemouth and an assist against West Ham to show for it

2 assists in 9 games this season in central midfield his only goal came whilst he was playing left back

He scored the same amount of goals at left back than he has in 52 games in central midfield for us

Can see what you mean but he's really come on this season in general.

Much better than he was last year no matter where he's played. I'd be interested to see what he could contribute with a bit more stability around him in midfield.

Until we sign a right back I agree that's absolutely where he's needed though.

His versatility is a massive positive for us. Great squad player. Over time I don't think we will want him to be starting and I find him very frustrating to watch on the ball at times. Some very poor pass and cross attempts tonight but overall still played well. Also did well for that cut back to Barry that he wasted.

I may be out on a limb, but when he's playing deep midfield I think he has a real problem tracking his man, which leads to overloads on the back line, particularly the right back.

I think we look far better with him not playing midfield (partly ofc because he's a better right back than Jake).

Quite an uncomfortable stat on assists when you consider how many set pieces he takes.

Far too much stat hunting after a win.

I love him. The type of player any manager loves to have in the team.

If the likes of Rico Lewis can get into the England set up, there's no reason Jummy shouldn't.

Oh wait. I'm forgetting who he plays for.
