Garner has been superb so far this season.

Another reason for not sending Armstrong away. Garner much better at right back, but leaves us light, unless Merlin can get fit and Tim steps up. Think Gana is fading over 90 mins now and still has some terrible passes in him.

I’d be having a word with James Garner and letting him know if he dedicates his career to becoming a right back - he’s likely got a starting PL place for the next 8 years.

Amazing how much balance he brought to the team when he moved to right back. Suddenly we could get up the pitch with more ease.

That might be partly to do with Palace tiring but the experiment with O'Brien isn't working.

Without Keane we can play a higher line. Definitely helps

Absolute quality. Honestly he’s unreal, he can do a bit of everything.

He’s top tier, put some one equal next to him, (not Gana, who has no positional sense and can’t pass) and we could have a very good midfield.

Definitely easier for us to progress the ball with him at RB. He's also quicker and more mobile than JOB. If Tim or Merlin can step up in CM I'd keep JG at RB.

The club urgently needs to be sorting out a new deal for Garner. He is becoming one of our best players and his versatility is invaluable for us, especially when we pick up a few injuries in key positions.

Sorry for the RS reference. But he’s a bit Milner like, and I was actually a fan of him. Great engine, great determination and can play pretty much anywhere to a decent standard
