So Garner going from a pretty average performer under the previous manager to a star performer and international under the current manager is nothing to do with the management? He just unilaterally decided “actually I think I’ll become much better at footy now” around last January?

Obviously the player deserves the praise he’s getting for coming on leaps and bounds but you can’t completely ignore the people who have helped him get there.

I’m Irish so not remotely arsed.

Only kidding, absolutely delighted for him and couldn’t be more deserving.

It must be mentally draining seeing players from other clubs receive constant call ups totally based on location or who they play for. This will do him the world of good confidence wise.

Whether he gets any minutes or not is irrelevant: it's a massive honour for him and his family and I'm sure he's absolutely buzzing. Very much deserved after being our POTY so far.

It's fairly common for players not to play in their first call up. But yeah there will be lots of rage if he doesn't
