I know there's a lot of love for Garner in this forum but I'm just failing to see it. Tonight's a great example, so many waylaid passes, poor set pieces, balls back to the centre halves or goalkeeper.

He was absolutely useless in the first half.

Hes still 23 and is really 3/4 games back from missing half the season, im ok with him having an occasional dirty diesel performance.

Yeah im sort of holding back commenting. I dont often see what others do in him. He's ok ish. He keeps it ticking over i suppose but i havent yet seen anything in him that says we've gotta have him in the side.

Yeah he had a great record on loan at Forest with set pieces.

He's been absolutely woeful at set pieces in his time at Everton.

There was a ball he played into the box yesterday in open play that was so bad, I'd have subbed him off as punishment

He was injured a lot under Lampard wasn't he and then he's basically had 18 months of snot man Dyche doing the bare minimum of coaching.

Hopefully Moyes gets a grip of him and starts demanding far more from him

He doesn't have it in him, a Stephen Hughes type nothing player

I like the lad, don't get me wrong, but what happened to his attacking game in the time between leaving Forest and joining Everton? He offers absolutely nothing in the final third, and we can't afford that when we have an abysmal attack and no wingers or attacking full backs. I feel like he'll ultimately end up a bit-part squad player from 2026.

There are moments you see him look up and play a ball straight out of prime Arteta but 98% of the time it's not happening.
