2023/24 James Garner

Definitely one of the few actual footballers that we have in this team but was rightly dropped, as he's been poor for multiple games now.

Improved us when he came on and nearly scored.

Him and Gomes would be an actual footballing midfield that would be good to start games, especially at home.

Bring on the warrior GG later on, and maybe even that other chap with the cool hair do, if absolutely necessary..

He only improved because we were actually trying to play a semblance of football.

It's the same with Onana - the team has no movement, no open pass, just the back pass or hoof as the people ahead stand and watch. It will never work.

No wonder Garner looked better when at least 1 of our full backs went past the half way line - we had players to pass to, wow!!!!!!!!! An actual overload down one side, unbelievable, Dyche just discovered the true football lifehack!!!!!!!!!!!

Just like Gomes, how can he impose himself on the game when the only tactic we have is for Pickford to lump the ball forward at every opportunity

Not a bad midfield today, him and Andre, although the quality of opposition should be factored.

Good enough that we maybe should have tried using them to build an attack rather than playing hoof-ball.

That's as bad a midfield performance I've seen in a long time.

Ignore all the hype you've read on here and it's obvious he is a very average midfielder. Technically decent enough but always struggles to impose himself on a game - a huge problem when you're playing centre mid.
