Not sure all the focus on O'Brien is a good thing.

Moyes in his press conference was asked about him and I notice that those two on ToffeeTV were devoting a huge anmounts of time to him.

He's got two stiff tests coming up soon; we'll see where we are after those games. Too much expectation mounting on the lad.
I think the combination of Tarks leadership and JB and O'brien's ability will see us through comfortably. If there are two things I can say for certain it's that our CB core is very decent and Ndiaye is very decent as well. We may have a bad game here and there, but there is a lot to like with those 3. Moyes needs to continue finding ways to get goals from this side. That will be the determining factor.

You’ve gone up a level this year, every single thread you jump through hoops to put a negative spin on things

That desperate for attention that you’ll happily spend your day trying to drain any optimism from fellow blues 🤢

Jake O’Brien deserves the praise of fans, his manager, the fans, and Toffee TV. He was punished for nothing more than not being Michael Keane. And the lad is brilliant. It’s okay to give praise when it’s due. We’re celebrating a blue who’s shining right now. I’m sure his ego is in check and we’re not creating an ego maniac. I love watching him play. He makes watching it fun.

Said it once I'll say it 100 times:

Yeah steady as she goes with this lad. Encouraging start, great he's on the pitch getting match time.

His physical presence adds to us on set pieces and takes a bit of heat off JB and Tarks - the latter of whom has been great for us but I thought perhaps not at his best this season and end of last.

That's not criticism, more just wondering if the perennial dog fight was weighing heavy.

So yeah, keep it Jo'B lad, been a welcome lift to our busy backline!

Felt he was pretty exposed as a RB today. Semaydo had him killed all game and doesn't have the sense to get forward/overlap.

Not blaming the lad as hes playing out of position, but clearly targeted him.

That’s all you have to remember about him. He’s not an Evertonian, he’s barely even human ffs. All you have to remember is that whatever he says the opposite is almost certainly true.

I don’t know. I think Jake’s looked pretty good the last few matches. Saying he was a little exposed today is fair. Comparing him to Michael Keane, in my opinion, isn’t fair. Keane’s 9 years O’Brien’s senior. And Keane played a lot in lower leagues. Keane has not been rated highly for years here. Jake on the other hand is pretty much playing straight in the top flight and shining after being unfairly benched. I’ve seen more from Jake in three matches than most of what I’ve seen from Keane at the back.
