I really have no idea how good or bad he is. To know that you'd have to actually be at the club a lot working with the players very closely. There is more than one leadership style, not just the Sgt Major barking style.

Because he's getting paid loads and will be GUARANTEED a first team place. And his agent has no doubt told him we can be his stepping stone club to a Man Utd or Arsenal etc.
This is unfortunately probably quite accurate. Why would any player pick everton over a champions league club? Not going to happen as evidenced by yerry mina.

Great servant , very good player who was an absolute bargain . His peak years he was class. Great ambassador model pro etc.

Never in a million years captain material though. That’s the fault of the managers who gave him the job, he’s hardly going to say no is he?

The mirallas penalty incident he should of lost it for that .

"Ill considered". It's very considered actually. As said, try not to make it about me. There are plenty of other people who view him as a terrible captain and a player of now questionable ability.
I do apologise. If there's a majority jumping on a bandwagon on this forum then they must be right of course.
Meanwhile, carry on with your various vendettas - I really enjoy reading good fiction.

It's not a bandwagon, it's supporters who are prepared to say what's actually being put in front of them: a load of muck in the case of the churchmouse.

Whatever about the Dave Express hurtling around the forum, but don't you think it's understandable if many fans have come to the opinion from watching all his games that he is not and was never a good choice for captain? I mean I disagree with anybody who was happy with him as captain but don't find the opinion particularly outlandish.

Too quiet and when he did speak not the best speaker whatsoever. Never gave you the feeling apart from a few sporadic moments that he was really leading out there. We have had two awful captains in a row in my opinion. Give it Seamus and everybody will be happy.

Can't disagree with giving Seamus the arm band but it doesn't alter my main point that fans - especially on a forum - will only too readily jump on a convenient passing bandwagon.
I also think that the role of captain may be being overstated. Leadership can come in may forms from many sources - so Seamus is quite able to motivate players around him whether he's captain or not.
