He was our bestr centre back last season too imo, but the likes of Halewood Blue disagreed, and probably still does. This season her has been great, not just standing out in a bad team, he has been fantastic, his tackling, heading and defending has been top class. Most consistent player since last January really, and it will continue.

What more can i say, he's been outstanding. The good thing with jags is his dips only last a game or two. Were The likes of Lescott or Yobo have a bad three months. Jags just kicks on. Iv said it from the beginning. He's a future captin of this club.

He's been the one player who has stood out this season so far. He should be are captin now IMO. Because he will play every game. He's a must at centre back. An Yobo an Lescott should fight it out for the other spot.

Well done Jags, Keep it up lad!!

Do you agree?

yes i do

was definetly a surprise to me when he made ths cb slot his own, considering lescott was playing really well at the time.. cant fault him either. would like to see him pass the ball out abit more from the back. does tend to hoof it.

I remember being at the preseason match before last season in Salt Lake City.

Moyes had Jags at right back (due to injuries, etc....)

After the first 20 minutes, I was thinking to myself, "What made you sign this guy David?" Didn't have the best match to be honest.

Needless to say, he's quieted any critics he might have had and is a bargain at the price we got him at.

Great signing David Moyes.

Thought we got him on the cheap when we did buy him. I love being right. The guy is very good and always has been.

Jags is going to play for us for a long time. Big 4 wont be interested in him, he's 26. The only moneybags team I could see bidding for him is Spurs. City have Dunne and probably bigger targets as well.

I agree. Everyone that enjoyed slagging Jag's off must be glad to be wrong. He is getting stronger and more consistent every game.

Personally I have only slagged jags off when he's played in the midfield role.
He is great in defence and has been our best player this season by far.

But a midfielder he isnt. The few times Moyes has played him there he's looked out of his depth.

Lets hope our midfield stays fit so Moyes doesnt feel the need to pop Jags in the middle again. Keep him at the back where he's strongest and YES make him captain. I'm sure that will come one day anyway.

Jags is doing great for us. Another excellent piece of transferbusisness by David Moyes. Has had some great games this season. Had Torres in his backpocket for most of the Merseyside derby and felt sorry for him it was FT who scored both goals. Also the match against Arsenal at the Emirates. First half all Arsenal did was playing the alternative long ball up to Adebayor. Jagielka didn't let him get a sniff in.

Agree, he's the most consistent player at Everton this season, think he'd be a great captain, don't know if he's a good talker on the pitch though...Moyes missed a chance when he made Arteta captain when Neville was out, and I think now Arteta would take it as an insult if he wouldn't get it next time Neville is out...

I'm also affraid that if Jagielka keeps playing like this for the rest of the season he'll attract the interest of the big four, don't know when his contract at GP expires, but I hope you'll be able to get some cash out of him IF he leaves...

Are you serious ?

In all honesty, that is understandable mate.

I concur with the rest of the post also.

Well put Bud
