It seemed so easy to keep Jacobsen - maybe Moyes was only willing to give him a one-year deal. Blackburn is reporting a two-year signing.

I'll defer to the gaffer presuming he's got bigger and better plans for fixing the RB problem.

Fully expected Jacobsen to resign and to do so relatively cheaply.

At least this thread won't hit 225+ pages!!!

We shouldn't be that dissapointed, am not! its not like he was any good! who said we didn't offer him a deal? He might of turned us down! good riddance Lars hav a great time at blackburn! (n)

So another has left an already depleted squad with no obvious signs that we are about to strengthen in numbers. That now leaves us five players shorter of last season's squad so by my reckoning, we need at least 10 players to have a squad adequate to cope with injuries etc in a long season.

Too right mate.

Now, let's sell Lescott, and get to work on building a bloody squad.

Moyes first mistake this summer in my eyes. We are short on numbers and at 29 he had a few more seasons in him.. still think he did a better job back there than Hibbert. If nothing else.. we should have kept him as a backup.

I hope Moyes have another RB incoming without having to stretch his budget too much, otherwise I think this is a shot in our own foot. :(

I'm not judging Moyes' decision until we definitely know if he has/hasn't got a replacement.

I would like to think we are aiming for higher quality player than Jacobsen.
Time will tell if that will be the case or not.
We should, but he'd be a good player to have around even if we find another, better, RB. He has international experience, is better (at least in my eyes) to Hibbert as a RB, and he didn't require a transferfee.

I can see two reasons for Moyes letting him go

1. Moyes have another, better RB coming in.
2. Moyes will buy one or two better DM's and therefore Neville will become more used as a RB than as a midfielder.

I'm thinking Moyes will have a replacement lined up.

Like when Ferrari left, and we signed Lescott. Hope so anyway.

Ha ha i remember all the posts last year when he signed "we dont need another right back".

We wont miss him he only played what seven games or something for us if even.

That said its a better game to season ratio then AVDM.

According to Dansih press, Everton offered him a 1-year deal, and Blackburn a two year deal. Jacobsen said that he is tired of moving around and would like to be in the same spot for a while, so I understand him. I wonder why Moyes didn´t want to give him a 2 year contract?

ure dead right mate

cant believe Moysey let him go (n)(n)(n)
we never even got to see the best of him but as far as im concerned he was quick, could read the game the way every defender needs to be able to and made the back 4 more solid...and we let him go. NICE ONE

hav a horrible feeling we're gonna end up trying to scramble signings together in the last few weeks of the window and as usual get about a quarter of the targets sorted

whats goin on??
