I don't think we should rush him, but it's great to know that when we have injuries we can throw these youngsters in and trust them. Future looks bright, but oh my, Rodwell is going to be special based on today's performance

hasnt he played center back all the way though the teams? and now he gets lobbed in at center mid for the first team and looks fooking great?

All I'll say for now is that he looks as good as Big Vic did when he broke through in those UEFA games a couple of seasons back (y)

I think Vics development shows how far Rodwell still has to go to be the full plater he can, but the signs are that he has a good head on his shoulders to go with the skillsb)

Hes definitely one for the pureists. Quality in abundance. Composure, drive athletisim and a bit of confidence. Making a contribution to the team, will still be three or four years before he becomes the player we think he will. With the Ying he needs a Yang a bread and butter player to support him!

Its the story of all young players!

He doesn't play like a kid at all. You'd be forgiven for thinking he'd been playing at this level for a few years already.

As I said today after the game, apart from Rooney, Rodwell is the most advanced 17 year old that I have seen. Good in the air, good tacking, good passing range and unbelievable awareness, he seems to have the lot. His size has obviously helped him to perform at a young age, but if he carries on, I have no doubt he will go on to become an exceptional player. I wonder though if Moyes plans on moving him to central defence as he gets older? He has played there throughout his young career, but obviously it is not a position that a 17 year should be played in. I think the big boys will start to watch him closely after todays performance.

Me dad reckons he's heard Wenger has tracked his progress from schoolboy level and really rates him.

We're better placed to refuse bids for young players than when Rooney emerged though, and by the time they get around to making a bid we will have displaced them in the champions league spots anyway :D.

Rodwell was brilliant today.

A word on Neville, he is fast becoming our weakest link, in todays game seemed to let his passes go astray and generally boot the ball anywhere, even heard a few groans from the home fans !!!

Once Fellani is back Neville should be dropped, but the 2 young lads kept in (y)

Neville has been essential to our recent good form. It would be crazy to drop him, thankfully I'm sure Moyes feels the same way.

His organisational skills are invaluable in a midfield that still hadn't adjusted to Carsley leaving until he was put in the center with Arteta. Not just that but he's a committed runner and tackler, and he's used the ball better than usual lately.

Top marks to Phil for the last few months, I've never particularly been a fan before.

First Ossie,
Now Pip,

I'm starting to think that people are purposly trying to find a "weak link"
