simple question would Jack Harrison get into the top 15 teams in premier league?

Answer no, then why are we interested in him, because he runs around a lot 🤣🤣
Honestly, I think it's insane that there are any advocates for re-signing this dud. He's been here two years, he's played loads, we've all seen what he can do. As you say he'll run all day, that's it. That's his only contribution. 30 matches he's played this year, 1 goal, 0 assists. From a supposed attacking player. It's not good enough, we need to move on.

I don’t disagree in principle.

However, it all depends on what Leeds would want for a fee and what Harrison would want as wages.

If MLS teams are the only other option then it’s unlikely they would pay much in terms of a transfer fee so £5m might get him out of Leeds. In terms of wages, if we could get him for £50k a week which is average wage for PL players these days then it’s not a bad deal considering he can play multiple positions and we need a lot of squad depth. He isn’t a starter for sure but as a bench option I wouldn’t be against it

For me, on a free transfer with zero wages, I still wouldn’t have him.
He’s just not good enough to be on the pitch.

This isn't true, though. For example, Moyes played Phil Neville in the centre of midfield, at right back, at left back and even at centre half just to shoehorn him into the side during his first stint. You can argue that that was the most effective use of the squad at the time but it wasn't, Neville was his proxy on the pitch so he played him when others were more suited. Managers definitely have favourites and become blinkered to the alternatives. You see it time and again, managers select players over and over until they are sacked and a new man comes in and that seemingly essential player becomes a bit part player under the new man. If they were essential because of deficiencies in the squad they would still be essential under a new manager, no?

…no. The same Phil Heville that won circa 60 full England caps.

These blokes are never the fans favourites but that’s why fans aren’t managing Everton. Managers know their most effective footballers, the influence they exude on the pitch. They’re only Managers ‘favourites’ because they know they play like it matters and they make a difference.

What’s funny is nobody talks of Pickford, Tarkowski or Branthwaite as Managers ‘favourites’, despite them playing every game. Fans like them, so they accept them. It’s only the players they’re less keen on that they call out as favourites. Every manager will want better than they have, have no doubt about that.

As I say I can't even contemplate why we are even thinking of paying a fee for him, I would rather have spent money on Lindstrom and if signing Harrison means we can't get Alcaraz, can see the honeymoon period for Moyes well and truly over.
Between Harrison and DCL Moyes certainly seems to be retreating back into his jobs for the boys style of management.

Energy is something that is a quality in itself. Many teams with good players with mediocre engines get smashed by teams with high energy levels.

Do they make a difference? What is the difference that they make?

Nobody talks of Pickford, Tarkowski or Branthwaite as "favourites" because it is so bleeding obvious why they are picked. Everyone can see clearly what they contribute. I'm not sure what your point was supposed to be but you are doing a great of supporting the point I originally made.
