2025/26 Jack Grealish

Transfer fee and wages for Grealish is a different calculation than most because you have to factor in the marketing aspect- shirt sales, global exposure etc. The other thing to factor in is attracting quality players who may view Everton as beneath them, but may buy into the project if the likes of Grealish is on board

Honestly, shirt sales are not remotely in the equation, would be a drop in the ocean.

AI says:
Everton shirt sales have increased by 70% following the loan arrival of Jack Grealish from Manchester City in August 2025, largely driven by high demand for the "Grealish 18" jersey. Grealish has become the club's bestseller by a wide margin, selling five times more than the next most popular player, indicating a massive commercial impact.

Impact of Grealish's Arrival on Sales:
  • Massive Sales Spike: The surge of 70% in sales underlines his status as a "brand" player attracting significant commercial interest beyond typical club sales.
  • Best Seller: The "Grealish 18" shirt is immediately the most popular, with reports of fans queuing to purchase it upon his arrival announcement.
  • Global/Outside England Impact: While exact regional figures aren't always released, Grealish’s high popularity as an England star typically draws interest from national fans and a wider global audience, boosting shirt demand beyond local Liverpool fans.

A lot of AI nonsense that, figures don’t seem to be based on anything official, just a Facebook post.

Fans might have been queuing in the club shop that day, but I doubt it was a global phenomenon!!

We know you do not like him Zat because he’s old enough to shave but Grealish as a 100m pound player is well known across the world especially from his time at City who have a large fan base in the far east
They are having their summer tour there this year

Care to explain why I was one of, if not the first poster to call for the Tarkowski signing on a free?

CITY may have a fan base in Asia, as LEICESTER do in Thailand and SPURS do in South Korea.

Grealish isnt particularly a big name here.

Not seeing any numbers there even from ai. "Global" no.

TBF, for the total outlay and some good scouting, it's conceivable that we could replicate that with a different, hopefully younger, player. Obviously we'll never know, but, for example, Kubo could have done the same. Alternatively, wouldn't you rather it was split between FOUR exciting players?

Kubo or another Asian 'star' would bring in a large amount of fans across Asia.

If we get players for marketing and not football reasons we are (and the game is) doomed. At his age Grealish would need to be a good deal, lower pay and 15-20 mill fee. He has no pace for a winger and suspect it is not the position he could be most useful. Useful he certainly is though.

I'm not sure I'd want to be spending a significant chunk of whatever transfer budget we have on a soon-to-be 31-year-old who isn't like Caesar's wife: beyond suspicion.

Those pictures are probably nothing in the great scheme of things, but they wouldn't be doing much for my risk aversion if I was responsible for that outlay.

I mean, would you even need the hassle of defending those pictures? Is the upside so great to make it worthwhile? Not for me.
