Interesting reactions. If you remove the stardust from your eyes you will see a very talented player who was simply not physically robust enough for the PL. We have seen some very talented players suffer the same. A great player needs to be available and for us he was not available enough and when he was he was often 'coming back.'
I had forgotten he ever played for us.

If you sprinkle a little stardust in your eyes you might see the difference between dross & World Class.

The only reason we didnt see more of the football magician was the pig headed Jaffa Boy in charge.

Physically robust
No one could get near him.

OK. I added him to a recent thread (on the back of reactions like this) about who were our most valuable and impactful players. So far 0 votes and one question about why he was ever on the list. If no one could get near him how come a lumbering RS oaf managed to ruin his time with us? I do not dispute his ability but he was too fragile to be relied upon in this league. It is too physical for many.

As for value he was a Top Draw player & like Grealish you get what you pay for.
These arent bargin basement players , they are one of the best of their generation .
If you dont appreciate that then stick to some of the crap we've had to endure over the years.

Who Rodriguez? He was great in patches undeniably but his commitment to the cause was questionable and he only joined because of Carlo so when Carlo left then Rodriguez's heart left too
