Randomly coming across the phrase ‘a cyclists gooch’ has provided one such moment on the train.

I swear everytime he publicly asks for more goals or assists from certain players, they do it in the next game.

I’ve been impressed at his fitness, I thought he’d be a sick note. Worked real hard last night, impossible to get the ball from, so calm, wins loads of fouls. Great performance!

Agreed, he's a great out ball to have, he keeps possession and draws fouls which gives us a chance to take the sting out of the game, he looks like he's really enjoying being here, once Everton touches you!!

Yeh expected assists.

Probably a more flatly useful stat - ie requiring less context to be useful - than xG.

Assists can be so misleading because they are entirely dependent on what the shooting player does...xA removes that other player's finishing from the equation.
