2025/26 Jack Grealish

Can’t be understated how good he was today. His composure gave us valuable seconds whenever he was near the ball. His defensive display was top notch

One of the criticisms ive had with Everton for to long now is how we treat the ball like a ticking time bomb. Grealish esp but i thought the trio of grealish ndiaye and dewsbury hall last night showed we're slowly moving from that. No disrespect but moving away from players like doucoure was essential. Its getting there.

It feels like a long time since we've had players who want the ball and aren't trying to offload it as soon as possible.

Culture shift.

Was glad McNeil didn’t come on earlier last night for that reason. Grealish and Ndiaye are so much better at protecting the ball and keeping possession

Yeah I remember people criticising his stats when we signed him. Not enough assists or this or that.

But it’s his football intelligence that is key. He knows when to take the ball, when to release it, how to draw a foul, how to take the sting out of a game, how to find a pocket of space.

Great defensively tonight too. Just wish he’d pull the trigger more.

Agreed, thought he was fantastic last night but there were a couple of moments towards the end where it opened up for him and he seemed reluctant to shoot

Only criticism is that I would have liked him to get a shot away towards the end when he was approaching the edge of the box; otherwise, another stellar performance from him!

100%, thought he was either going to blammo one or put Barry in. Apart from that he was superb. There was a bit in the 2nd half where we were well under the cosh and held off 3 players to win a throw in, but in the process gained us about 20 yards just by pure strength.

And just look at the goal. Dewsbury hall was opening up his body to take the pass from Garner. So he was already moving forward towards their box to set up the chance. Now put Doucoure there. It either bounces off him with a poor first touch or he keeps his back fully to goal and passes it back.
Look like little things but they're not.
