You don’t turn down guys of Grealish’s quality. You could claim loads of players were in “terminal downward spirals” who go on to resurrect their careers and drag their new clubs up the table. We have Ndiaye and Alcarez that can play No 10.
What to we need Grealish for?
Buy potential not players on a terminal downward spiral
Paying top dollar for some highly dubious signings cost us 2 points deductions and almost got us relegated. You don’t turn down guys of Grealish’s quality. You could claim loads of players were in “terminal downward spirals” who go on to resurrect their careers and drag their new clubs up the table.

The top teams have more than one quality option in each position, it’s why they winWe have Ndiaye and Alcarez that can play No 10.

Well Grealish is a left winger so maybe he could do that while the other lads play 10?We have Ndiaye and Alcarez that can play No 10.

Quenda signed for Chelsea all the way back in March so I would probably be a bit skeptical to the rest of what they're saying if that's a recent podStarted listening to the Blue Frontier podcast. Seems to be led by an American who is working in the scouting/recruitment industry in football. They’ve done two position reviews so far and come up with the following suggestions outside the usual carousel or PL players.
Anyone know if a) these are any good, or b) likely?
CF -
Nick Woldemate
El Bilal Toure
Yves Guessan
Promise David
RW -
Dilane Bakwa
Johan Bakayoko
Abdul Fatawu
Edon Zhegovra
Geovany Quenda
We’ll end up with Tammy Abraham & Jack Grealish on loan, won’t we? (And I wouldn’t be unhappy with that either)
He’ll be a top earner, but that’s a cost of running the business. It’s not like we’ll be forking out a massive fee. If it all comes within the set budget where is the problem?Paying top dollar for some highly dubious signings cost us 2 points deductions and almost got us relegated.
I would prefer an Alcarez or Ndiaye, someone who we may make money on not lose.
This forum and the wider fanbase regularly moans about how we don't have enough goals from out wide and in other areas of the squad. He hasn't scored a lot of goals while at City, one of the best teams in the world and he looks like a player on the way down rather than someone that can refind his best football which was c. 3-4 years ago now.Not all about numbers. He played regularly for the treble winning City team. Truth is if he wasn’t a little bit in off his best he wouldn’t be available. I don’t want a permanent signing but if he’s available on loan for a season there’s very little risk for us. It’s effectively swapping Harrison for Grealish and paying a bit extra in wages. If he’s terrible we lose nothing except a loan slot but why would he be when he’s desperate to make the World Cup and revive his career.
Will fill the hole left by Gylfi. Exciting times! We’ve already got two players that play in the same position/role as him. If this is going to be a protracted drawn-out saga then I would rather we just move on and not waste our time, we have other priority positions to address.
