They’ve done him a favour issuing the ban from today really. By the time the new season starts, he’ll already be a few months into the ban.

Can't even train though they say gambling is an addiction, an illness in some cases, being cut off from you're job, work environment leads to boredom, which leads to possibly more gambling. I feel he should at least be allowed to train. We would be fuming if it was say DCL.

Part of the plan...they knew he would get a long ban, so they delay and delay the entire process until the season is essentially over. Will only be missing about half of next season, so not really a 8 months ban...more like a 5 month ban.

Not really...they know the rules. If its an addiction, the good news for him is that he has plenty of money to get help and also to distract himself making sure he doesn't get bored.

What will Brentford do? Nobody will buy a high value player they have. His contract will have a little over a year to run at the end of the ban so his value will decrease. Do they stop paying him? After all must be grounds not to pay a player you can’t use
